ONE. All members are expected to read and obey the rules posted here on Music Sets You Free. They have been placed here for the safety of the members. Anyone found breaking them will be made to endure the consequences.
TWO. Each registered member will be given one week to complete their application for their desired character. Should they fail to do so, the reservation will be removed, and any incomplete applications will be denied. Reservations can only be renewed twice.
THREE. We are limiting the number of Characters per IP Address to five. Only one of those may be a Canon, at least until we see how well people like them. This rule is subject to change.
FOUR. Each month, there will be an activity check, to ensure that members are still around and posting. Anyone who has not posted within 10 days of the activity check will risk losing their accounts and characters. Canons will then be placed back on the list.
FIVE. Music Sets You Free is a literate roleplay site. Therefore, before you join, each potential member shall be warned that we allow no posts shorter than 2 well written paragraphs on a bad day. Otherwise, we expect to see anywhere between 3-4 paragraphs per post. Under no circumstances is anyone permitted to post one paragraph or less.
SIX. The site staff were so chosen for specific reasons. Those also given admin powers are to be respected by all members. Once the site grows, a few people will be selected to act as site moderators. These people will be chosen by the current staff team. Anyone who asks to be staff will NOT be considered.
SEVEN. All adult characters are required to have a job. You will find a list of open jobs under the Registration Board. Locals should also have jobs around the town.
EIGHT. To abide by PB TOS, romance and language on this board it to be kept to a PG-13 level. Should it exceed this, you are asked to mark your thread with [M] [R] or something along those lines. However, for the safety of our members, no one under the age of 15 will be permitted to take part in those threads.
NINE. Each registered member is required to log onto the site at least once per week. This will help to ensure that when the activity checks happen each month, we know who it still active and who is not. If you do not post on the checks, you risk losing your accounts and characters.
TEN. On sites such as these, creativity is a huge bonus. Therefore, to ensure that we get the maximum creativity possible, we are not allowing people to use the same name, first name or last name as the celebrity they choose to play their character. You must show a little more creativity than that.
ELEVEN. Though we have a combination of campers, counselors and locals, you are free to roam around the entire board. Locals may come to visit the Camp, and campers are permitted out into the town.
TWELVE. God-modding and power-playing...any literate roleplayer should know that they are two huge issues that face the boards today. Under no circumstances are you permitted to use either one of these during a roleplay.
THIRTEEN. As you know, rules are very, very important to a site. It is expected that you read them carefully and obey them during your time here. To ensure that you have indeed read my rules, you are asked to remember the following: Bell Lake. You will know where it goes on the application.
FOURTEEN. The banning and suspension rules are simple. Once your warning meter reaches 50%, you will be suspended for 24 hours. Once your meter reaches 100%, you will be suspended for a period of 3 days. If you are spoken too again, for whatever reason, you will then be banned. No ifs, ands, or buts.
FIFTEEN. No characters are permitted to be killed, unless it is approved by both the other roleplayer and myself. Things are to be kept as real as possible. However, this doesn't mean that you cannot kill off your own character. Just run it by the admin first.
SIXTEEN. Signatures and avatars are not to contain inappropriate pictures. All characters must be semi-clothed, so that nothing private is showing. Should you require an avatar or a signature, please request one from our Graphics team. Otherwise, all members are required to have both a signature and an avatar of their celebrity claim. Signatures cannot be any larger than 500x350, or they will be replaced.
SEVENTEEN. All characters are to be claimed by a celebrity. Unless it is previously discussed that two characters are twins, then no two characters are to share the same celebrity. Only one person may claim it. To claim it fairly, you must post in the Celebrity Claim thread.
EIGHTEEN. Advertisements are to be kept strictly to the Advertisement board. You are not to advertise in the C-box, or on any other board.
NINETEEN. Please try to keep a balance of characters on this board. We would like to keep the male to female ratio even, or near even, and the same with the various groups. Please feel free to create as many as five characters, as long as you can keep them all active. Remember, there are campers, locals and counselors that are needed.
TWENTY. And finally, if you want to double check that you have read these rules carefully, your application title shall be posted LASTNAME, firstname. No other way is accepted.
These rules are subject to change at anytime if they are being abused by members of the board.
