After the last encounter with the Volturi, in which the fate of Renesmee Cullen was decided, life has been relatively quiet for all the vampires who were involved. Bella, Edward, and Nessie are finally a happy, semi-normal family, and Bella thinks that she finally has her happily ever forever. Still, everyone knows that they had not heard the last of the self-proclaimed rulers of the vampire world.
It's now ten years later, and Renesmee has reached the quick maturity that her parents knew she would. Things have been oddly peaceful for the Cullen family, and this lack of excitement and danger has started to become very unnerving to Alice. Strange, scatterd visions of the future have been coming to her. None of them make any sense or even seem to fit together, but they all seem to lead to the same inevitable fate: The death of her family and friends. The Volturi want revenge for the night ten years ago, and they want the Cullens finished once and for all.
When several familiar vampires and werewolves come up missing, the family knows that the time to fight is soon coming. They begin to call on friends to help, like they did a decade ago. Only this time, there is nothing for anyone to witness; they are merely there to fight. A fight that is very likely to be their one last stand.
